BPA, phthalates in tap water
According to WHO studies, plasticizers (phthalates) occur in low concentrations in rain, river and groundwater as well as in bottled mineral water - mainly from the sealing caps of the closures. So far, there are hardly any scientifically reliable data available. In animal experiments with rats and mice, effects on the organs liver, kidney and testicles as well as a reduced body weight were determined. The birth weight and the number of offspring also decreased, and in some cases malformations also occurred.
