Nano
Germ barrier for drinking water and showers
Can be used as a drinking water filter and as a shower water filter. Mainly used for bacterial and viral contamination in water with the highest demands on the material and quality of the 0.1 µm hollow fiber membrane.
Drink
The Nano provides effective protection against harmful microorganisms in drinking water. The Nano is quick and easy to install on the tap or under the sink in any kitchen. The easy-to-install, mobile system also offers a high level of protection against unclean water when traveling. Simply use it and take it with you! A slowed water flow indicates the exhausted capacity before the filter change .
Showers
Whether as a preventative measure or in the event of a positive legionella test result: the Nano water filter reliably protects you against legionella and dangerous microorganisms in shower and drinking water. The certified quality solution offers maximum protection against Legionnaires' disease and much more.

's range of services
Filtration of the smallest microorganisms
Nano focuses on the filtration of germs and bacteria in high concentrations, e.g. E-Coli, Vibrio Cholarae, Shigella, Salmonella.
High-performance diaphragm
Suitable bundling of hollow fibers results in a flow rate of up to 11 liters/min.
High Filter capacity
When the Nano cartridge is used in optically clear water, with simultaneous contamination with bacteria and germs, the Nano has an extremely long service life.
Reduces turbidity in the water
Reduction of water veil and phytoplankton through retention in the membrane.
Maximum security
Automatic visible reduction of the water flow when the Nano cartridge is exhausted.
Quality made in Germany
Highest certified safety according to ASTM F838-15A

How hollow fibers work in the water filter
Hollow fiber membranes in a water treatment system work on the principle of ultrafiltration, in which water is pressed through tiny pores in the fibers to retain impurities.
1. microscopically fine pores
The hollow fibers consist of thin, hollow polymer strands with tiny pores (up to 0.1 micrometers in size). These pores are small enough to retain bacteria, suspended particles and microplastics while clean water flows through.
2. filtering through physical barrier
The water is pressed through the fibers from the outside to the inside. Impurities remain on the outer surface of the fibers.
3. effective removal of pollutants
Removes bacteria (e.g. E. coli), filters particles, microplastics and sediments. Important minerals and dissolved substances such as salts and ions remain in the water (no desalination as with reverse osmosis).

Advantages of hollow fiber water filters
- High filtration performance - removes over 99.99 % of bacteria.
- No chemicals necessary - only works with physical filtration.
- Hohe Durchflussrate – Mehr Wasser kann gleichzeitig gefiltert werden als bei klassischen Keramikfiltern.
Protection against legionella
The certified quality solution offers maximum protection against Legionnaires' disease. The Nano cartridge can be used both preventively and in the event of an actual legionella infestation.
Highest certified safety
The Alb Filter Nano cartridge reduces microorganisms with over 9 log levels (99.9999999 %) and thus exceeds the disinfection requirements for the medical sector (certified according to ASTM F838-15A).
The reduction of germs is usually specified in log levels, whereby each log level corresponds to a reduction by a factor of 10. Each additional log level therefore makes a huge difference to the filtration performance. A few examples:
- Log 1 means a 90 % reduction in germs. This means that only 10 of the original 100 germs (10 × 10) remain.
- Log 2 corresponds to a 99 % reduction, which is roughly equivalent to the effect of soap.
- In the non-medical sector, a germ reduction of at least Log 4 (99.99 %) is referred to as disinfection. This means that a maximum of 1 out of 10,000 germs survives.
- Stricter requirements apply in the medical sector: According to the specifications of the ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) and the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), sterile filtration is only recognized from Log 7. This means that for every 10 million germs, a maximum of one survives.
- Log 9 corresponds to the filter performance of the Nano cartridge
Log | Reduction in % | Of 100,000,000 germs, the following remain | Example |
---|---|---|---|
1 | 90 | 10.000.000 | |
2 | 99 | 1.000.000 | Effect of soap |
3 | 99,9 | 100.000 | |

5 | 99,999 | 1.000 | |
