Our Tapwater in Germany is strictly controlled, but the reality often shows a different picture. The quality is based on limit values for around 60 pollutants that are currently defined in the Drinking Water Ordinance.

Many substance concentrations, such as drug residues, hormones, microplastics and pesticides, etc., are not covered by the Drinking Water Ordinance!

Every year, there are more and more reports of legionella in drinking water in Germany. And even low concentrations of substances such as heavy metals or microplastics are not taken into account by the Drinking Water Ordinance.

Moreover, water quality is usually only measured at the distribution centers, not at the house connection. This means that the Tapwater can pick up various impurities from the mains on its way to your tap.

Filtering water and preserving vital minerals - that is the principle of Alb Filter drinking water filters.

A major advantage over other filter systems such as reverse osmosis ("osmosis water") is that our cartridges leave essential trace elements and minerals in the water and do not filter them out.

Whenever you want to drink water, prepare drinks or food , it makes sense to use filtered water. Unfiltered water is also sufficient for washing up or washing your hands. Generally speaking, water from sparkling water bottles is often no better than unfiltered water Tapwater. With a good water filter, you can achieve much healthier water that is free of contaminants.

The Active Plus+ filter cartridge differs from the Active cartridge in two main ways. Bacteria filtration (up to 0.7 µm) and a limescale reduction of approx. 4 - 7 dH°.

If you observe the replacement intervals of 4 months for Active and Active Plus+ and 6 months for the Nano, you are basically on the "safe side".
There are no other indicators for changing Active and Active Plus+ apart from a regular water test in the laboratory, which is of course not realistic. With the Nano cartridge, you will notice a reduction in the flow rate after prolonged use. This can be reduced to almost 0 - please change the cartridge in this case.

Our drinking water filter cartridges offer different filter stages to effectively remove a variety of impurities:

Active cartridge

Filters bad tastes and odors:

High-quality Alb Filter coconut block activated carbon adsorbs unpleasant odors (such as chlorine, CHCs, CFCs and more) and impairs the taste of drinking water.

Reduces heavy metals:
The adsorbing effect of activated carbon binds heavy metals such as lead and copper in drinking water.

Filtration of microplastics and tiny particles:
The fine structure of the sintered activated carbon reliably retains the smallest plastic particles.

Reduction of pharmaceutical residues and pesticides:
Organic compounds such as pesticide residues, herbicides, drug residues, hormones and more can be reduced.

ActivePlus cartridge

All the filter properties of the Active cartridge plus filter:

Against bacteria and germs: germ protection without chemicals thanks to a mechanical germ barrier down to a bacteria size of 0.7 µm.

Limescale reduction / water softening: "Double" water softening through ion exchange and structural modification of limescale compounds, resulting in fewer adhering surfaces.

Nano cartridge

Protection against microorganisms:
The Nano cartridge focuses on filtering out germs and bacteria in high concentrations, e.g. E-Coli, Vibrio Cholerae, Shigella, Salmonella.

Protection against Legionella:
The Nano cartridge provides reliable protection against legionella and other microorganisms, whether as a preventative measure or in the event of positive legionella findings.

Reduces turbidity:
Reduction of water haze and phytoplankton through retention in the membrane.

Our Tapwater can contain a variety of ingredients, including natural minerals such as calcium and magnesium as well as residues of chlorine used for disinfection. Heavy metals such as lead and copper can come from old pipes. In addition, organic compounds such as pesticides, herbicides and drug residues can get into the water. Microplastics and other small particles are also possible. By using drinking water filters, these contaminants can be significantly reduced, improving water quality and safety.
