Active Plus filter cartridge
With added safety - for drinking water
The Active Plus+ filter cartridge made from the BIOTON filter medium reliably removes harmful substances, taste and visible impurities from the water. It also filters out a large number of bacteria and reduces the limescale content by 4-6 °dH using an ion exchanger.
The Active Plus+ offers very similar properties to the Active activated carbon cartridge, but is especially suitable for users who want to benefit from the additional limescale and bacteria reduction.
Note
The Active Plus+ cartridge is sensitive to drying out and is therefore supplied in a vacuum. For occasional use, for example when camping, please choose the Active cartridge.

What is filtered?
Heavy metals such as lead and copper
The adsorbing effect of BIOTON binds heavy metals such as lead and copper in drinking water.
Microplastics and other fine particles
Thanks to the ultra-fine structure of the filter medium, microscopic particles and plastic particles down to 0.7 µm are reliably filtered out.
Chlorine and other taste impairments
BIOTON binds unpleasant odors (chlorine, CHCs, CFCs, etc.) and impairs the taste of drinking water.
Pesticides and drug residues
Organic compounds such as pesticide residues, herbicides, insecticides, drug residues, hormones and hormone-like substances are reduced.
Bacteria and germs
Germ protection without chemicals. Mechanical germ barrier up to a bacterial size of 0.7 µm.
Lime and lime compounds

Binds odors and pollutants
The strong surface forces (adhesion) of the BIOTON filter the water from unwanted turbidity and odors such as chlorine as well as organic compounds and pollutants. These include drug residues, hormones, pesticides/pesticides, perfluorinated and polyfluorinated alkyl substances (PFAS), etc.
Filters microplastics, bacteria and germs down to 0.7µm
Bioton has a pore size of just 0.7 µm (0.007 mm). This means that even very fine particles are effectively retained by the increasingly constricting structure. The Active Plus cartridge thus offers protection against sand, rust, microplastics as well as germs and bacteria.
Limescale reduction through ion exchange (softening effect)
In water treatment, the chemical process of "ion exchange" is used to achieve softening (limescale reduction) of the water. Unwanted salts are removed from the water with the help of cation and anion exchangers. For example, one calcium molecule is replaced by two sodium molecules.

Installation / filter change
Quick guide to changing the filter cartridge. The old cartridge does not need to be removed during initial installation. For detailed instructions, please read the operating instructions for your water filter.
filter change ELEMENT/DUO
- Unscrew the lower cover from the filter body (Element or Duo). (A)
- Pull the old cartridge out of the sealing cap with a slight twisting motion. (B)
- Press the new cartridge into the holder of the sealing cap with a slight twisting motion. (C)
- Screw the lower cover back onto the filter body. (D)
- Let the water run through the filter for a few seconds to activate the cartridge.
- The new cartridge is now ready for use.
- Before starting installation, connect the water supply line to the corresponding fitting.
- Unscrew the cold water supply hose from your angle valve to the fitting.
- Screw a second Flex hose connection onto the angle valve (included in the complete set and complete set with quick-release couplings).
- Then attach the filter housing (ELEMENT or FUSION) between the flex hose connection from the angle valve and the supply line to the fitting.
- Use an adapter if necessary.
- Open the water supply pipe at the angle valve.
- Slowly open the tap and let the water run through the filter for 20 seconds to activate the cartridge for operation. (Fusion: When activating the Active cartridge, the Nano cartridge must not )
